NAFIC and the American Fraternal Alliance would like to thank those who participated in the critically important meetings with Michigan Legislators in Lansing.  Your appointments were wildly successful. Everyone did a great job of representing your societies and telling how we make a difference in the lives of our members and communities.

To promote ongoing legislative goals, NAFIC board members, with support from the American Fraternal Alliance, meet with members of congress. Our main goal was to show how fraternal societies support and give back to our communities, along with personal stories of ways our groups have made a difference.

"We are grateful to NAFIC for your support of our endeavors. I thought you might be interested in hearing a couple of testimonials that highlight the impact of this program and what your dollars support.

Testimonial #1: An Army veteran had recently graduated from college, but had not found a job yet. Dixon Center assisted with her rent, giving her the breathing space she needed in her journey to full-time employment. "I just want to say how grateful I am and how much I needed it. I really appreciate your hard work and efforts, I feel so much safer now. Thank you."

Testimonial #2: An Army veteran had lost her job due to her disability and thus fell behind on her mortgage payments. Even though she had secured another job, she was not able to catch back up and needed a small "push" to get back ahead.  "I Just wanted to let you know that the [mortgage company] posted the funds that you guys sent today. I am so grateful for your assistance. Thank you."

Testimonial #3: A homeless Air Force veteran was unable to afford moving expenses, despite taking the extra steps to secure housing through a HUD program. This obstacle, a true gap, was preventing her from achieving a successful outcome to a desperate situation. Dixon Center was able to provide assistance that resulted in this veteran becoming part of her community again. "Wow! . . . Thank you so much, that is great news! I am so grateful for this assistance right now. This is lifting a burden that's been weighing on me for a while now. I appreciate you guys tons, and I will definitely keep you posted with the progress."

Because of the generosity of those at NAFIC, we are able to continue changing lives every week. Thank you for supporting those who have served our nation!"
